Droplet microfluidics offers precise and simultaneous control of multiple fluids at microscale, which enables synthesis novel microparticles with compositional structural diversity in a controllable way. The morphology functionality generated can be well designed by modulating the hydrodynamic profile as geometric structures. synergistic combination droplet biodegradable materials makes it possible to encapsulate actives/drugs inside high efficiency for drug delivery. utilization these microfluidic-generated characteristics easy biodegradability good biocompatibility field delivery has made considerable progress recent years. In this review, commonly used structures microchannel methods generate are introduced. addition, advances application discussed summarized focus on two kinds biopolymers preparing microspheres, natural biopolymers, synthetic biopolymers. Next, environment-sensing microencapsulation systems have been because their ability release upon external stimulation, thereby allowing on-demand Finally, current challenges utilizing pointed out some perspectives future direction research applications provided.
